Over the years of partnership,
Kazakhstan and Singapore have built strong and reliable relationships in
various fields, including economy, education, energy, information technology,
finance, and culture. Experts note that this cooperation continues to strengthen
each year. According to them, there is growing interest from Singaporean
businesses in the country. Major companies are set to implement joint projects
in Kazakhstan, which indicates that the country is attaching great importance
to improving the investment climate. Moreover, the Singaporean side can share
some extensive experience and knowledge, creating avenues for collaboration in
the development of e-commerce, fintech projects, and smart cities. Kazakhstan,
on its part, offers a wide range of investment opportunities in energy, mining,
agriculture, logistics, and infrastructure. Located at the crossroads of Europe
and Asia, the country serves as a strategically important geographical partner
for the city-state.
“I was part of the delegation
from Singapore to Astana in May 2023. Kazakhstan is from what I understand is
the hub of Central Asia in terms of the financial aspect of it. So, I think
that’s something that is interesting about Kazakhstan. And I would like to
explore and expand into Central Asia through Kazakhstan in the near future,” said
GEMx Technologies Founder and CEO Asmadi bin Ahmad.
“The first project that we had
with Kazakhstan was AIFC. So, we worked on 50 projects on E-justice.
Subsequently, we are doing more enhancement. We see a huge trade flow. I do see
a lot of improvement. I’m able to take a taxi just using my mobile phone and in
term of payments earlier days was all cash, now it’s all about using card and
PayWave,” noted NG Chee Keong, CrimsonLogic’s vice-president of the Northeast,
Central and Southeast Asia.
