Kazakhstan to employ investment projects for import substitution

In 2025, four new steel mills will be launched in Kazakhstan. In addition, two enterprises for the production of semi-coke, five ferroalloy factories will open. Ferrous metallurgy projects are aimed at import substitution of products worth US$1.2 billion. As a result, our country will be able to export goods worth US$3 billion. In addition, it is planned to implement 11 key projects in non-ferrous metallurgy.

“It is planned to implement six key projects in the aluminum industry. This will increase exports by US$645 million. In addition, three plants for the production of finished copper products are planned to be built, increasing exports to US$200 million,” said Kairbek Uskenbayev, Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development.
