Over 30 Kazakh manufacturers are
taking part in the sixth China International Import Expo in the city of Shanghai.
The country’s national pavilion showcases successful projects in the spheres of
tourism, logistics, innovations and agriculture. It should be noted that
Kazakhstan and China signed 21 protocols on the export of Kazakh food and
agricultural products for the development of relations in agriculture, which
allowed for a significant increase in supplies. At the same time, Kazakhstan
can further expand export volumes. The potential for vegetable oils and meals
alone amounts to $300 million.
“In general, we are raising exports of oil and
fat products to China. In 2022, we supplied over 122,000 tonnes of oil
and fat products worth nearly $170 million. This year, its exports will grow by
40 percent or more than 170,000 tonnes,” said Yadykar Ibragimov, the chairman
of the National Oilseed Processors Association.
“To date, the confectionery factory produces more
than 50,000 tonnes of items a year, about 40 percent of which are sold for
export. Starting this year, the export direction includes all CIS
countries, Eastern Europe, China, Mongolia and Korea. Thus, we try to attend
all events organized by QazTrade and the relevant ministry in terms of export
development. We are looking for new markets and countries, expanding the geography
of export supplies, and see great potential for Kazakh products abroad,” said
Tulpar Mansurov, the sales director of the confectionery factory.
Overall, 133 domestic companies
have participated in the Chinese exhibition over the past five years. They concluded
profitable export contracts worth more than $260 million. This year, a total of
3,000 companies from 69 countries have presented their goods in Shanghai.
