Kazakhstan completed four major infrastructure
projects last year, including the restoration of a power unit at the Ekibastuz
GRES-1 thermal power plant, the launch of a transport and logistics terminal in
Xi’an, the completion of gas infrastructure for Almaty’s energy complex, and
the commissioning of a gas reinjection compressor at the Karachaganak field. Chairman
of Samruk Kazyna Nurlan Zhakupov reported these developments to President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting a 39% increase in the group’s net profit in 2024.
Seven more investment projects are scheduled for completion by the end of this
year, including a container hub at the port of Aktau.
