Kazakhstan will celebrate Abai Day. This year marks the
179th anniversary of the great thinker and educator. On the eve of the holiday,
various book exhibitions, contests, quizzes, seminars, and training sessions
are being held across the country. The holiday is widely celebrated in Abai’s
homeland.
«Over 100,000 domestic
and foreign tourists visit Abai’s homeland. During their
visit, they are keenly interested in Abai’s work and activities. They share
their opinions on his book titled Words of Edification and are curious not only
about the thinker’s personal life but also about his relatives and children,» said
Kuat Kiykbai, senior researcher at the Abai State Historical-Cultural and
Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve «Zhidebai-Borili».
