More than 13 trillion tenge in investments
will be required to implement Kazakhstan’s National Project for modernizing the
energy and utility sectors. These funds are set to be allocated for the
construction and reconstruction of 86,000 kilometers of utility networks, as
well as the commissioning of new power generation sources with a total capacity
of 7.3 GW. Plans for next year include attracting nearly one trillion tenge in
investments, modernizing 10,000 kilometers of networks, and updating 46,000 units
of equipment. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a detailed implementation
plan for the National Project will be published closer to the end of the year.
The project also includes the modernization of canals and reservoirs, the
expansion of water-saving technologies, and strengthening the operations of the
Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations. A total of 224 companies have been
tasked with implementing all planned activities.
«The plan envisions the construction and
modernization of 42 reservoirs and 14,500 kilometers of main canals over the
next few years, prioritizing major repairs. In addition, we must digitize the
sector. Such technologies already exist globally, and we have engaged leading
companies – some are establishing their factories here, while others are
launching joint ventures with us. These modern technologies, used by advanced
countries, are extremely important for us,» said Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister
Kanat Bozumbayev.
