Kazakhstan, Tajikistan to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (lower house) of Majlisi Oli (Tajik Parliament). The Head of State noted that Kazakh-Tajik relations are demonstrating strong development momentum, which will continue to grow, particularly following the signing of the historic Treaty on Allied Relations. He emphasized that inter-parliamentary ties will become a vital component of cooperation. In turn, Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen these ties and expand the legal framework. He also highlighted that Kazakhstan is a reliable friend and strategic partner for Tajikistan.

Kazakh President meets with Tajik Prime Minister 

Following this, President Tokayev held a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda. The Head of State expressed confidence that the agreements reached will elevate the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries to a new level. Kohir Rasulzoda highlighted the significant intensification of relations in recent years, noting the strong potential for increasing trade turnover to $2 billion. The parties reiterated the importance of practically implementing the signed agreements.
