China has become an official partner of the Astana AI Film Festival (AAIFF
2026). A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Beijing during a presentation
of the festival and the Kazakhstan-China Forum on Innovation Exchange in AI
Film and Television. The partnership will cover several areas, including joint
AI projects, AIGC technologies, science fiction content production, investment
cooperation, and the international promotion of films. The agreement is
expected to strengthen the festival’s global profile and provide Kazakh
filmmakers with access to one of the world’s largest digital content markets.
Technology exchange and joint initiatives are also expected to give new impetus
to the development of AI filmmaking and Kazakhstan’s creative industries. The
Astana AI Film Festival will take place in the capital from October 1 to 3 as
part of Astana AI Week.
