Kazakhstan state of emergency ends

The state of emergency in Kazakhstan has come to an end. The country is coming back to normal life. The curfew and other temporary restrictions imposed during the state of emergency were revoked. However, some of the restrictions are still in effect. There can also be a ban on movement in areas where special operations are carried out, namely in the city of Almaty, as well as in Almaty and Zhambyl regions. Counter-terrorism operation regime and critical “red” terror threat level remain here. Checkpoints continue to work. Law enforcement officers conduct personal inspection and go through vehicles moving at night.

Eight checkpoints were also removed from the roads in Mangystau region. However, the police officers keep working in reinforced mode.

“We will carry out an operational and preventive measure “Law and order”, aimed at ensuring public safety. Thank you for understanding,” said Kaldymurat Aigarakov, head of local police department.
