Kazakhstan sends $1 million humanitarian aid to Palestine

Kazakhstan has transferred $1 million in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. The funds allocated by the country’s government have already been sent to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as was announced at the briefing by the spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aibek Smadiyarov. He reminded that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared that decision at the 10th summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

“It is noteworthy that humanitarian activities are a significant direction of our country’s foreign policy. Kazakhstan, adhering to a peaceful policy and principles of justice, always strives to provide support to states in difficult humanitarian situations,” noted Smadiyarov.

In general, 76 Kazakh citizens, or a total of 161 people, including their family members, remain in the Gaza Strip, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports. The Kazakh Embassy in Cairo daily negotiates with the Egyptian authorities on the evacuation of Kazakh people. Domestic ambassadors are making every effort to extract them as quickly as possible, the ministry emphasized.
