Kazakhstan has launched its first modular
rescue station to boost rapid response to water-related emergencies. The new
facility, located on the bank of the Yessil River in Petropavl, operates around
the clock and is equipped with all necessary conditions for rescue teams. The
station provides oversight of the coastal zone and critical infrastructure,
including a road bridge and the Petropavl hydrosystem dam. This modular rescue
post is a pilot project, with similar stations planned for other regions of the
country in the future.
«The facility was built in just 25 days. This
is a water rescue station unlike anything else in Kazakhstan. A pier and a
special ramp leading into water were constructed. The station is fully
equipped, and as you can see, my colleagues are now wearing new uniforms and
gear,» said Dinara Nurgaliyeva, official representative of the Kazakh Ministry of
Emergency Situations.
