French films will make their
Kazakh language debut for the first time. Dubbed foreign movies will be
presented to the local viewers following the Week of French Premieres.
According to the French Embassy in Kazakhstan, the traditional event is
scheduled for October of this year. Previously, the Kazakh State Center for
Support of National Cinema and the French National Center for Film and Moving
Images (CNC) signed an additional cooperation agreement during the Cannes
International Film Festival for bilateral distribution and joint film
production. Moreover, the French side is ready to support Kazakh cinema, and
therefore, working visits by CNC experts to Kazakhstan will be organized.
