Kazakhstan sees increase in air traffic

The number of Kazakh citizens traveling by plane increased. The country’s airlines have transported 2.6 million people over four months, which is almost 3.5 percent more than the year before, Ranking.kz reported. Moreover, passenger traffic grew by 20 percent comparing with the pre-coronavirus period from January to April 2019. Residents mostly fly to the cities of Almaty, Shymkent and Nur-Sultan. Overall, the income of domestic airlines has totaled about 120 billion tenge (US$272.6 million) over four months. The aviation industry of Kazakhstan is advancing steadily. For example, currently, there are no restrictions for domestic airlines on flights to European countries.
