Kazakhstan’s national kokpar team holds first training sessions at Nomad Games stadium in Astana

Members of the Kazakhstan’s national team have begun training for kokpar and kok boru sports at the Kazanat hippodrome in Astana where the competitions for the fifth World Nomad Games will be held. A total of 12 athletes from each team are set to participate in these sports.

 

«Kazakhstans national kokpar team is fully prepared to participate in the fifth World Nomad Games. We arrived in Astana early so that the horses had enough time to adapt. Today, we assessed the field, which is of the highest quality. Since our country hosts this large-scale event, there is certainly a great sense of responsibility. We will do our utmost to achieve victorysaid Kurmanbek Turganbek, captain of Kazakhstan’s national kokpar team.

 

«We came to train for the fifth World Nomad Games. The field and stadium are in great condition, and the track surface is comfortable for the horses. Our preparation has been going well, and we’ve been training for about three months now,» said Ulan Baitoreev, member of Kazakhstan’s national kokpar team.
