Kazakhstan and Russia have signed a Plan of practical measures for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation for 2025-2027. The Apparatus of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Apparatus of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation have also concluded a cooperation Agreement. Maulen Ashimbayev and Valentina Matviyenko exchanged views on the prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations. Tasks were outlined for further cooperation between the MPs of the two countries in areas such as trade, economy, investment, industrial cooperation, tourism, and digitalization. The expansion of interregional ties was also identified as one of the priority areas of joint work. Attention was also given to the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, particularly focusing on the development of educational and scientific contacts, which play a fundamental role in international relations.

«Russia is a key political and economic partner of Kazakhstan. As noted by the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, «the relations between Kazakhstan and Russia serve as a model of strong and unbreakable friendship.» A testament to these relations is the progressive and dynamic growth of cooperation in almost all areas. We believe that your visit to Kazakhstan is a logical continuation of our bilateral ties and will help maintain the high dynamics of our inter-parliamentary cooperation,» noted Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairperson of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
