Kazakhstan, Russia implement joint projects worth $25 billion

Bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia was discussed today at the Akorda. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who arrived on a working visit. The parties noted the strengthening of strategic partnership and allied relations between the countries, as well as the effective implementation of agreements reached at the highest level. Tokayev emphasized that Russia remains Kazakhstan’s main trade, economic, and investment partner. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the Russian Presidents state visit to Kazakhstan, scheduled for May. According to the Head of State, the entire range of multifaceted bilateral cooperation has been re-examined as part of the preparatory work. Mishustin, in turn, thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and congratulated him on the successful nationwide referendum and the adoption of the new Constitution.

«You are well aware of how economic cooperation between our countries is developing at the bilateral level. A total of 122 major projects worth approximately $25 billion have already been implemented. Trade volume is steadily approaching $30 billion. These are truly exceptional results. Russia is our main trade, economic, and investment partner, and we are, of course, delighted by this,» Tokayev said.

«Let me take this opportunity to convey to you the best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Yesterday, I discussed with him in detail the agenda of our bilateral relations, as well as preparations for his visit to you in May. The government is doing everything to ensure that this visit, like previous ones, is successful. We warmly recall your visit to the Russian Federation last November. Our governments are currently fulfilling all the objectives set by our leaders,» noted Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin.
