Kazakhstan-Russia cooperation discussed at Astana roundtable

Kazakhstan, with its balanced and constructive foreign policy, plays a crucial role in fostering effective cooperation between countries in the Eurasian region and globally. Located at the heart of Eurasia, the topic of continental dialogue is particularly relevant for Kazakhstan. This was highlighted by the Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Alexey Borodavkin, during an international roundtable in Astana. The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, analysts, as well as experts and scholars from both countries. According to speakers, Kazakhstan has played a key role since the establishment of international organizations and structures such as the SCO, ASEAN, CIS, CSTO, and CICA. The activation of dialogue and the strengthening of ties between these international associations are of particular importance. Furthermore, discussions focused on Kazakhstan's growing role in regional security architecture and the comprehensive development of Kazakh-Russian relations in political, economic, humanitarian, and trade sectors.

«Economic ties are developing successfully. Last year, we nearly reached $30 billion. Trade turnover is growing steadily, along with our investment relations. According to official statistics, investments in Kazakhstan exceeded $4 billion last year. We have a large number of joint ventures,» Borodavkin said.

«Kazakhstan is one of the key partners in the Eurasian space. Together with Belarus, Russia, and other members of the Eurasian Union, we make a significant contribution to the development of the EAEU,» said Tuleutay Suleimenov, Professor at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan.
