Kazakhstan and
Qatar are set to implement projects in the agro-industrial complex.
Specifically, there are plans to build a grain processing plant in the Akmola
region. The joint venture is estimated to cost $200 million, and the concept
and partnership terms are currently being worked out, according to the website
of the Kazakh Prime Minister. Overall, the parties are keen on expanding
bilateral relations and strengthening investment cooperation. It is noteworthy
that Qatari investments in Kazakhstan’s economy tripled last year, with a
similar growth trend observed in trade turnover indicators for the first 10
months.
