Kazakhstan presents awards to those who assisted after Aktau plane crash

In Kazakhstan, those involved in the aftermath of the plane crash near Aktau were honored. On behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 70 people received state awards. The awardees include firefighters, rescuers, paramedics, dispatchers, energy workers, specialists from the Center for Disaster Medicine, and forensic experts. The orders and medals were presented by the governor of the Mangystau region. It is worth noting that on December 25 last year, 38 people lost their lives in the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau, while 29 were rescued.

«We accomplished our task. Not only did we extinguish the fire, but we also carried out a number of other rescue operations. It was not easy; the work required considerable effort and resilience,» said Serikbolat Ongar, commander of the fire department No. 12 of Baskudyk village.

Azerbaijan awards Kazakh rescuers for assistance after plane crash

Notably, Kazakh rescuers who took part in the rescue of survivors after the plane crash near Aktau were also awarded in Azerbaijan. A group of Ministry of Emergency Situations employees was presented with the «For Cooperation» badge.
