In Kazakhstan, those involved
in the aftermath of the plane crash near Aktau were honored. On behalf of
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 70 people received state awards. The awardees
include firefighters, rescuers, paramedics, dispatchers, energy workers,
specialists from the Center for Disaster Medicine, and forensic experts. The orders
and medals were presented by the governor of the Mangystau region. It is worth noting
that on December 25 last year, 38 people lost their lives in the crash of an
Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau, while 29 were rescued.
«We accomplished our task.
Not only did we extinguish the fire, but we also carried out a number of other
rescue operations. It was not easy; the work required considerable effort and
resilience,» said Serikbolat Ongar, commander of the fire department No. 12 of
Baskudyk village.
