Over 226 billion tenge in investments were attracted to the
Ulytau region in 2024, with 89% coming from private funds. An investment pool
of 940 billion tenge has been formed, and 17 projects worth 138 billion tenge
are planned for implementation this year. The most attractive sectors for
investment include construction, trade and logistics, alternative energy, and
tourism. The region’s governor Dastan Ryspekov briefed President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev on the socio-economic development results and future plans. He noted
that housing construction saw significant growth last year, increasing by 30%,
while industrial production grew by 8%. The Head of State was also informed
about the progress of the heating season, the Taza Kazakhstan environmental
campaign, and efforts to ensure the safety of workers in hazardous industries. Ryspekov
also spoke about support for the families of miners who lost their lives in an accident
at the Kazakhmys Corporation mine.
«A report was presented on the ongoing work with major
subsoil users in the region regarding corporate social responsibility. The Head
of State set tasks aimed at further diversifying the region’s economy, creating
favorable living conditions for the population, expanding transport and
logistics potential, and developing infrastructure,» Ryspekov noted.
