Kazakhstan plans to hold national exhibition in Louvre

Kazakhstan’s national exhibition ‘Cultural Code of the Kazakh Steppe Civilization’ will be held at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The parties have not only reached a preliminary agreement but also developed a conceptual plan for the pavilion. The national exhibition at the Vernissage Museum slated for 2026 will be part of a large-scale project designed to increase the recognition of Kazakhstan worldwide, including through traditional heritage. The country’s Ministry of Culture and Information is currently preparing to organize the exhibition, noting that it will also enhance relations with French partners. This idea was announced during the official visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France last November. The artifacts, covering the period from the 4th millennium BC to the mid-19th century, will be exhibited in the halls of one of the most famous and visited museums in the world. The exposition will be based on authentic rarities from the funds of a number of museums in Kazakhstan.

“The list of exhibits carefully selected for exposition in the Louvre is now being compiled. The event will reflect the whole list of values of Kazakhstan as well as comprehensively reveal its diverse culture and history. The exposition, which is planned to last two-three months, will facilitate the promotion of the rich heritage of the Kazakh people,” said Gulzeinep Pazylova, the spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Сulture and Information.
