Kazakhstan plans to cut harmful emissions by 300,000 tons by 2035

Kazakhstan plans to reduce harmful emissions by 300,000 tons by 2035. This was announced during a meeting of the Council on the transition to a green economy chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. Participants discussed the implementation of measures aimed at achieving key targets, including emission reduction, the adoption of best available technologies at enterprises, and the development of sustainability reporting. Bektenov emphasized the importance of coordination between non-governmental organizations, scientists, and businesses to help Kazakhstan achieve carbon neutrality. Following the meeting, he issued a number of instructions to relevant ministries.
