Kazakhstan plans to commission 93 renewable energy projects

Kazakhstan plans to commission 93 renewable energy projects by 2030, with a combined capacity of 2.3 gigawatts. By 2035, this figure is expected to nearly quadruple. The government reviewed the development of the industry, expecting nine new alternative energy facilities to be launched this year. In total, 154 facilities currently produce green energy in Kazakhstan. Much attention at the meeting was paid to the issue of attracting strategic international investors for large-scale projects. The state actively supports the renewable energy sector. Measures include guaranteed electricity purchases at auction prices, annual indexation, exemption from network fees, and tax breaks. This stimulates the opening of new facilities, increasing the share of green energy in the country.
