Kazakhstan and Morocco are strengthening their legal cooperation and partnership in the areas of security and the protection of citizens’ rights. The Senate, the upper house of Parliament, has ratified several agreements between the two countries. One of them concerns the extradition of individuals wanted for criminal prosecution or the execution of a sentence, while excluding the extradition of each country’s own citizens. Another agreement focuses on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, providing for the timely exchange of evidence and information between competent authorities.
«The agreements are aimed at ensuring public and state security. The provisions of the agreements regulate the conditions and procedures
for criminal prosecution, the extradition of convicted persons, and the
provision of legal assistance. We hope that these laws will further enhance the
effectiveness of the two states’ joint efforts to ensure public safety,» said Senate Chairperson
Maulen Ashimbayev.
