Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic step up interparliamentary cooperation

The Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, held discussions with Marlen Mamataliyev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, on prospects for the development of interparliamentary cooperation. Ashimbayev noted that, thanks to a trusting and friendly dialogue at the highest level, bilateral relations have reached a new stage. In this regard, he emphasized the need for legislative support for initiatives of the Heads of State of both countries. The sides also exchanged views on the outcomes of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting and the fifth Eurasian Economic Forum held in Astana. Particular attention was given to the development of a unified legal framework for the digitalization of key sectors of the economy and the safe introduction of artificial intelligence. Ashimbayev outlined ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan, including constitutional reform. In turn, Mamataliyev highly appreciated the transformations taking place in Kazakhstan and reaffirmed interest in strengthening interparliamentary cooperation.
