Issues related to the climate agenda, which are of
strategic importance to Kazakhstan, were discussed by President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev and Abdulla Al-Mandous, President of the World Meteorological
Organization and Director General of the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology.
In particular, a cloud-seeding project is set to be launched in the Turkistan
region to increase reservoir levels and improve water supply for agricultural
areas. The initiative is being implemented jointly with the UAE’s NCM. The full-scale
launch of the project is scheduled for May 17. During the meeting, the sides
also focused on the development of early warning systems, the modernization of
meteorological infrastructure, and the expansion of scientific data exchange.
