Kazakhstan – first in region to implement artificial rain technology

Issues related to the climate agenda, which are of strategic importance to Kazakhstan, were discussed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Abdulla Al-Mandous, President of the World Meteorological Organization and Director General of the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology. In particular, a cloud-seeding project is set to be launched in the Turkistan region to increase reservoir levels and improve water supply for agricultural areas. The initiative is being implemented jointly with the UAE’s NCM. The full-scale launch of the project is scheduled for May 17. During the meeting, the sides also focused on the development of early warning systems, the modernization of meteorological infrastructure, and the expansion of scientific data exchange.
