Kazakhstan is ready to increase the supply
of non-resource goods to the Jordanian market, including wheat and other
agricultural products. This was announced at the fifth meeting of the
intergovernmental commission of the two countries on trade, economic, cultural
and humanitarian cooperation, held in Amman. The parties emphasized the
significant potential for trade growth between the countries, as evidenced by
the figures. Thus, the bilateral trade turnover increased more than fourfold last
year. The Jordanian side expressed interest in importing Kazakh grain using
alternative transport routes, including through the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan can
use the capabilities of the port of Aqaba to export its goods. This will allow
to supply products not only to the Jordanian market but also to countries in
the Middle East and North Africa. At the same time, Kazakhstan is interested in
the participation of Jordanian companies in establishing food industry enterprises
within the country. To intensify business relations, the parties intend to hold
a meeting of the Kazakh-Jordanian Business Council next year.
