The best environmental startups in
Kazakhstan have been selected. Over 200 projects were submitted for the
competition held as part of the Global Cleantech Innovation Program (GCIP) 2024
national forum. Experts shortlisted fifty of these projects, with the top five
receiving awards of three million tenge each from UNIDO, the United Nations
Industrial Development Organization. Several projects are already being
implemented, including one focused on water purification using chlorella microorganism.
This project has been successfully implemented in several regions across the
country.
«The startup projects cover seven areas,
including water management and conservation, energy saving and efficient use,
waste recycling, green transportation, eco-friendly construction materials, and
much more,» noted Didar Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the International
Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center.
