Kazakhstan increases oil and gas condensate production to 82.2 million tonnes

Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan has increased oil and gas condensate production to 82 million tonnes, an eight percent increase compared to last year. Over 64 million tonnes of oil and more than five billion cubic meters of natural gas were exported in 2023. Domestic refineries surpassed their target by producing over 11 million tonnes of petroleum products in the first 10 months of this year. It is planned to produce 13.5 million tonnes of gasoline and other fuel types this year. The Kazakh Energy Ministry summed up the results of the oil and gas industry.

“To date, over 50 million tonnes of Kazakh oil have already been transported. As part of developing alternative routes, particularly an international transport corridor, we have facilitated the shipment of 1.5 million tonnes of oil per year through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline system. Also, negotiations with Azerbaijani counterparts are underway on transporting Kazakh oil through the Baku-Supsa pipeline,” said Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev.

The large Rozhkovskoye gas condensate field, which was put into operation in the West Kazakhstan region this year, will become a source of additional natural gas volumes. It is planned to produce over 14 billion cubic meters of raw gas and seven million tonnes of condensate at that field by 2040. In 2023, the Aksai South and Eastern Urikhtau fields were also commissioned. Regarding investments in geological exploration, five contracts for subsoil use were signed for $9 billion. Moreover, this year, the country concluded agreements for the supply of natural uranium with energy companies from the United Arab Emirates and China.
