The Katon-Karagai
State National Natural Park became the first location from Kazakhstan to enter
the global Green Destinations Top 100 Stories list. This selection comes from a
group of 170 destinations worldwide. As experts note, successful destinations
are selected based on criteria recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism
Council. The area won a place in the annual list of eco-friendly places due to
its effective solutions in territory management and development, offering a
unique cultural experience and sustainable development for travelers. It is
noteworthy that alongside other chosen eco and national parks, the successful
example of Katon-Karagai will be shared with other countries, fostering the
exchange of experiences in the tourism industry.
