Kazakhstan is strengthening measures to attract capital and highly qualified specialists, focusing on economic openness. Since April 10, additional measures have been introduced in the country regulating the admission of foreign citizens for permanent residence, as announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva. According to her, special visas are envisaged for investors, issued to heads and participants of investment projects, as well as their family members. This format allows simplified access to the Kazakh market, the launch of businesses, and the creation of new jobs. Also, incentives for in-demand professionals are being maintained. Separate visa categories are available for them, including the possibility of obtaining permanent residency. The list of eligible professions is expected to be updated within the year as part of the implementation of the migration policy concept until 2030. This work will be carried out on an ongoing basis, taking into account the needs of the economy. New visa formats are also being introduced for highly qualified professionals and digital nomads. These measures are expected to increase the inflow of investment, technology, and professional resources into the country.
«Special visas, including a category for permanent residency, are also
provided for foreign citizens with in-demand professions. Among them are
neurosurgeons, hematologists, pharmaceutical process engineers,
bacteriologists, motion graphics technicians, and other specialists. Overall,
the current list includes 51 professions. However, it is regularly updated in line
with economic needs and in coordination with relevant government agencies,» noted Aida Balayeva, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture
and Information.
