Kazakhstan increases wheat supplies abroad

Kazakhstan is set to increase its grain exports to China, focusing primarily on wheat. Over two million tonnes of wheat are expected to be shipped to the neighboring country in the near future. To ensure uninterrupted export, the headquarters for the organization of grain transshipment, operating under the national railway carrier, is strengthening its work. Besides, special schedule routes for the formation of direct prefabricated trains have been developed, including Kostanai-Galaba, Kokshetau-Galaba, and Kostanai-Tashkent junction. Transportation of goods will be carried out on the one sender-one recipient principle. Last year, the volume of grain shipments by rail from Kazakhstan to China reached a record 2.2 million tonnes. In the first six months of this year, 757,000 tonnes were sent to China, with a target for the second half of the year set at over 1.25 million tonnes. Kazakhstan also plans to export wheat to Afghanistan and Pakistan through the Beineu grain terminal.
