Kazakhstan is expanding the geographic reach of its flour exports. For
the first time, the country has exported flour to the U.S. market. The products
are sold under the Eurasian Legacy brand on major online platforms such
as Amazon and Walmart. These shipments are being carried out as part of a new
strategy to promote Kazakhstan’s national products in the U.S.
«The first wonderful case was the exporting of flour in New York City. It was 50 tonnes of flour last month. So, the transportation and logistics time was about two months from Kazakhstan to the U.S. into the Middle Corridor from Aktau, Baku, Poti, Istanbul and New York. So, we are hoping to export 100 tonnes per month in the future. So, Americans, retailers and customers are really interested in our products,» noted Ramazan Slamkhanov, Official Representative of QazTrade in the U.S.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s grain products can also be found on the shelves of Chinese stores, with wheat flour in particularly high demand. Before reaching the shelves, the grain undergoes initial processing locally. To this end, a logistics and processing agro-park was established in the North Kazakhstan region. The project was implemented by a Chinese grain and oil industry group. The flour is then shipped to China for further deep processing. Notably, in the first half of 2025 alone, Kazakhstan exported to China about 100,000 tonnes of feed wheat flour, nearly 10,000 tonnes of high-quality flour and wheat, and more than 10,000 tonnes of vegetable oil.
«Mainly, we import raw materials from Kazakhstan for
sunflower, rapeseed, and flaxseed oil. Supplies come from the North Kazakhstan,
Akmola, and Kostanai regions. We produce 2–3 million tonnes of products annually.
As for grain crops, we purchase rice and wheat, which are used to produce flour,»
said Liu Zhiping, Deputy General Manager at the Aiju Grain
and Oil Industrial Group.
