The National Bank set the base rate at 14.5 percent per annum. This decision is aimed at stabilizing and slowing down the inflationary processes and expectations in 2023, as well as bringing inflation closer to the target in the medium term.
“The rate on standing facilities to provide liquidity will be 15.5 percent, and on standing facilities of liquidity to withdraw liquidity - 13.5 percent”, the report of the National Bank states.
Since the beginning of 2022, the National Bank increased the base rate four times. On January 24, it was increased to 10.25 percent, on February 24 – up to 13.5 percent and on April 25 – up to 14 percent per annum.
