Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic intend to strengthen
trade and economic cooperation, with priority given to mechanical engineering,
transport, and IT sectors. This was discussed by the Prime Ministers of the two countries, Olzhas Bektenov and Andrej Babiš, during a meeting in Astana. They paid special
attention to energy partnership, noting in particular the potential for
cooperation in nuclear energy. The parties also discussed prospects for
developing transport connectivity. They emphasized that Kazakhstan’s geographic
location and its developing transport infrastructure create opportunities for
Czech businesses to access Central Asian markets. In the field of digitalization, the parties plan to implement
joint initiatives in areas such as GovTech and AI development. In this context, they highlighted the role of the Astana International
Financial Centre (AIFC) as a platform for attracting investment and supporting
international business. The heads of government confirmed their readiness to strengthen business
ties.
