Central Asian countries and China plan to join forces in developing green
mineral resources. A proposal to establish an Alliance to promote such
cooperation was put forward at the Kazakhstan-China Forum on the Sustainable
Development of the Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Industry in Astana. Representatives
of more than 3,000 Chinese industrial enterprises attended the event. Together
with their Kazakh counterparts, they discussed mining and metallurgical
projects, investment initiatives, and held B2B meetings. Participants noted
that Kazakhstan's rich mineral resource base and China's technological
capabilities create new opportunities to expand mutually beneficial
cooperation.

first visited Kazakhstan in 2005. Since then, we have been keen to expand
cooperation with Kazakhstan in the non-ferrous metals industry. Kazakhstan has
the largest reserves of copper, zinc, and aluminum in Central Asia, while we
can offer advanced technologies and equipment for the deep processing of these
metals,» said Jia Mingxing, Vice Chairman of the China
Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association.
More than $500 million is expected to be attracted for the modernization of
around 50 mining and metallurgical enterprises in Kazakhstan. Special
investment applications have been submitted for this purpose. The Association
of Precious Metal Manufacturers noted that the parties are already implementing
several major projects in the sector.

key project is RG Gold. It is a major company, and they are carrying out
significant work. The investment project will involve building a new plant,
increasing production, and creating new jobs. In addition, many companies are
currently entering the exploration and mining sectors. Kazakh companies see
them as strategic partners and are starting to develop new and smaller deposits,»
said Kanat Baitov, Executive Director of the Association
of Precious Metal Manufacturers.
