Kazakh President visits military parade in Beijing

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as an honorary guest, took part in the military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II and the struggle against Japanese militarists. Alongside him and Chinese President Xi Jinping, more than 20 heads of state and government from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America attended the event. The parade was witnessed by over 50,000 spectators.

A total of 45 units of the People’s Liberation Army of China took part in the parade, with more than 100 aircraft and several hundred units of ground equipment involved. A key highlight was the demonstration of new strategic weapons, including modern hypersonic and precision systems, as well as unmanned and counter-unmanned vehicles. Then Tokayev attended a ceremonial reception on behalf of the Chinese President in honor of the distinguished guests. This event concluded his official visit to China.
