Astana's industrial production gains momentum

Industry remains one of the key drivers of Astana's economic growth. In the first half of this year, enterprises in the capital produced goods worth more than 2.2 trillion tenge. The industrial production index reached nearly 112%, with the manufacturing sector accounting for about 95% of total output. The sector’s growth is being driven by special economic zones and Industrial Park No. 1, where projects involving both domestic and foreign investors are underway. One such project is a plant producing modular wastewater treatment and pumping systems. The facility is currently in pilot operation and is preparing to reach full production capacity. The plant is already incorporating AI into its operations. Digital algorithms monitor wastewater treatment facilities in real time, rapidly detect potential faults, and improve operational efficiency.

«We are integrating AI into our entire automation and monitoring system for wastewater treatment facilities. AI will help with the maintenance and monitoring of the facilities, as our equipment is quite complex to maintain. It will help us monitor equipment performance and optimize its operation,» said Andrey Belyayev, General Director of the plant
