Today is the Day of the National Currency of Kazakhstan and the professional holiday of workers of the country’s financial system. On November 15, 1993, Kazakhstan introduced tenge as its national currency. The independent country started the history of its own monetary and economic policy from this moment. A group of specialists began to work on the design of the national currency back in 1991, and the samples of banknotes were approved in August 1992. The introduction of tenge became a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan’s economy.
