Kazakhstan is ramping up its agricultural exports. In the first seven months of this year, volumes grew by more than 50% in crop production and nearly 30% in livestock, Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev reported at a government meeting. He noted that most of the growth came from traditional products: wheat exports rose 56%, sunflower oil 76%, and barley 94%. Ten importing countries account for the majority of foreign demand. Kazakhstan continues to maintain a strategic focus on CIS countries and China while also exploring new markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. To support this expansion, trade pavilions, logistics hubs, and national showcases on international e-commerce platforms are being established. The minister added that there are plans to take the oilseed sector to a new level.
«By 2027, it is planned to ensure the industry’s
annual turnover exceeds $1 billion and to rank among the world’s top three
suppliers of sunflower oil. This project will also be expanded to other areas
of agricultural exports,» Shakkaliyev
said.
