Kazakhstan develops flood modeling system

Kazakhstan is set to launch a service for receiving applications for flood damage compensation. Additionally, the country will establish a platform to record and monitor the implementation of flood control measures using video surveillance cameras. An innovative project has also been developed, featuring a prototype system for modeling floods and forecasting reservoir water levels. This digital tool will enable drainage calculations and display flood zones on a map based on specified water levels. These new digital solutions were presented to Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, who approved the projects and instructed their pilot implementation. Also, attention is given to domestic manufacturers. Support systems are in place to track the operations of each manufacturing facility and online identify instances where their interests might be infringed upon by government agencies. Implementing the new databases and portals will enhance transparency, speed up processes, and ultimately boost production.
