Kazakhstan becomes top destination for UAE tourists

Kazakhstan is the most popular tourist destination for UAE residents during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (Oraza Ait). It is well ahead of other top tourist destinations. Such data was provided by the world’s travel search engine Skyscanner, as reported by the Kazakh Tourism national company.

“Kazakhstan’s tourism sector is experiencing a positive trend, with travels being arranged in advance. Thus, tourists from the United Arab Emirates are planning to visit Kazakhstan for Eid al-Fitr, also known as Uraza Bayram. The annual increase in searches for April flights to the country has reached 195 percent, making it a leader among states such as Switzerland, Greece and Cyprus, as well as the Seychelles,” said Alisher Tursyn, spokesperson for the Kazakh Tourism national company.

The interest of tourists from the UAE in Kazakhstan is confirmed by the figures. In 2022 nearly 3,000 tourists visited the country, last year the number exceeded 6,000 people. The growing popularity of Kazakhstan as a tourist destination indicates the significant potential of the country in the field of international tourism, experts note.

“According to the travel search engine Skyscanner, the cities of Astana and Almaty, along with the Almaty region arouse great interest among tourists from the United Arab Emirates. It is noteworthy that they opt for a relaxing and cultural vacation. The Almaty mountains, forested areas and captivating landscapes, and Astana as the capital, generate a positive interest among visitors,” added Tursyn.
