Kazakhstan becomes leader in CIS for internet personal data protection

Kazakhstan took 42nd place out of 193 countries in the UN Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII) this year. According to the UN, 93 percent of the country’s population uses the internet. Kazakhstan also became the leader among CIS countries in the UN Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) for personal data protection. Over the past ten years, the number of electronic public services has more than doubled, with 33 million services provided in the first half of 2024 alone. Additionally, Kazakhstan’s digital developments in GovTech have reached international markets. In just two years, the volume of exports, for example, to Tajikistan and African countries, exceeded one billion tenge. Kazakhstan supplies abroad such IT components as Smart Data Ukimet, Smart Bridge, and GOV.KZ.
