Kazakhstan will become Central Asia’s digital hub with the
region’s largest IT project – a hyperscale data center. It is planned for
launch in 2027 with the participation of investors from Singapore. The
resolution on the agreement with the investor has already been signed by the
Prime Minister. Two data centers with a capacity of 200 megawatts will be built
in the Akmola and Karagandy regions. Investments in the project will total 690
billion tenge. The Ministry of Digital Development will be engaged in the
integration of the centers into the state digital system and cloud technology
advancement. The initiative aims to boost Kazakh IT service exports and attract
major tech companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.
