Kazakhstan and Mongolia aim to strengthen cooperation

Kazakhstan and Mongolia intend to deepen their trade and economic cooperation. This was discussed during a meeting between representatives of the two countries’ foreign ministries in Ulaanbaatar. The parties outlined specific measures to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of Kazakhstan and Mongolia, namely, increasing mutual trade turnover to $500 million. They also agreed to develop a partnership in agriculture. Kazakhstan is set to begin supplying veterinary vaccines to Mongolia, with plans to establish local production in the future. Additionally, Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports of agricultural machinery, wheat, and other grain crops, with special focus on a major joint project.

«Kazakhstan plans to implement a pilot project to purchase 500,000 goats from Mongolia. We view this initiative as the beginning of a joint project focused on advanced livestock processing and the development of export-oriented production cooperation. In addition, I informed my colleague of our readiness to provide support in training specialists in the fields of e-government implementation and space exploration,» said Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.

Kazakhstan is set to foster cooperation with Mongolia in the mining sector. Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu emphasized that companies willing to implement joint investment projects will receive comprehensive support. In turn, the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and transportation.

«As part of expanding bilateral partnership, an agreement was reached to work jointly on removing existing obstacles and challenges in the road transport sector, creating new transport and logistics routes, increasing the number of flights, boosting the flow of mutual travel by citizens, increasing the volume of imports and exports, and creating a favorable business environment for entrepreneurs,» noted Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg.

Kazakhstan hands over 5,000 books in state language to Mongolia

During his visit to Mongolia, Nurtleu, on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, presented 5,000 books in the state language. These works by renowned Kazakh writers, poets, and scholars will be distributed to libraries and educational institutions, including regions with a Kazakh diaspora. Nurtleu thanked the Mongolian leadership for supporting the preservation of the language and national identity of local Kazakhs, confirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening educational cooperation. Currently, around 1,000 Kazakh students are studying at Mongolian universities, and plans are underway to open a branch of one of the leading Kazakh universities in Mongolia.

«These books were received by our representatives in Parliament. In Bayan-Ölgii, the regional library and district libraries will receive them. We have more than 40 schools teaching in Kazakh. Overall, each year Kazakhstan sends us such books. Last year, the Otandastar public foundation also provided a significant amount of literature. Our secondary schools mainly use educational materials from Kazakhstan,» shared People’s Writer of Mongolia Sultan Taukey.
