Kazakhstan ranked among the top three largest oil exporters
to the European Union in 2024, having exported over one million barrels of oil
per day. According to Eurostat, Kazakhstan secured third place, following the U.S.
and Norway. Other major suppliers include Libya, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Nigeria,
Brazil, and the UK. In total, Kazakhstan exported around 70 million tonnes of
crude oil in 2024 and plans to raise that figure to 70.5 million tonnes this
year. An increase in oil production is also expected. In 2025, the country
plans to produce over 96 million tonnes of oil. The growth is primarily attributed
to the expansion project at the Tengiz oil field.
