Kazakh serviceman trains for 600 km marathon to mark Republic Day

600 km in five days - that is the distance a Kazakh serviceman plans to run in less than a week. Rauan Abylkhanov is dedicating his ultramarathon to Republic Day, a national holiday celebrated in Kazakhstan on October 25. The route will follow the Astana - Kokshetau - Astana direction. Each day, the sergeant will cover 120 kilometers, taking breaks every 40 kilometers.

«It took me about three months to prepare. During training, nutrition plays a crucial role, providing about 70% of my energy and strength. The remaining 30% depends on running. I will be accompanied by a mobile medical team, as well as colleagues and police officers,» shared Rauan Abylkhanov, squad commander of Astana territorial defense brigade.

It should be noted that this is not Abylkhanov’s first achievement. In 2022, he entered Kazakhstan’s Book of Records after covering 350 kilometers in 48 hours. Now the serviceman plans to reach new heights - running 1,000 kilometers in just 10 days.
