Kazakh rescuers begin search and rescue operations in Afghanistan

A special flight carrying humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan has arrived in Afghanistan. Food products, tents, medicines, and clothing to assist those affected by the earthquake in the Herat province were delivered by the National Guard aircraft. In total, Kazakhstan is dispatching around 1,700 tonnes of aid. Meanwhile, the Kazakh rescue team has already started searching for the missing people and clearing the rubble. According to the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry, the group will work in the Naibrofi district, located 25-30 kilometers away from Herat. This area is considered the most challenging, with the highest number of missing people. The authorities of the Afghan city have expressed gratitude to Kazakh rescuers who intend to assist in earthquake relief operations around the clock. It is noteworthy that the 45-member team, all with prior experience in such operations, is equipped with necessary gear for search efforts. The team includes canine handlers, medical workers and paramedics from the Disaster Medicine Center.
