During his working visit to the Aktobe
region, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev toured a steel pipe manufacturing
plant. The facility was commissioned in July of this year, with total investments
amounting to around 3.5 billion tenge. The plant has an annual production
capacity of up to 20,000 tonnes of finished products. The Head of State was
briefed on the enterprise’s long-term development plans.
«The plant manufactures profile pipes and
supplies them to all regions of Kazakhstan. We purchase raw materials from a
local producer,» said Mirgali Burbayev, director of the Metallinvest group of companies.
President Tokayev also attended an
exhibition showcasing products from local manufacturers. The display included
equipment for industrial enterprises and the railway sector, medical devices,
pharmaceuticals, workwear, household chemicals, and plumbing products. The Head
of State was briefed on the region’s socio-economic development. Over 11
months, the economy grew by six percent. More than 1.2 trillion tenge is
planned to be allocated for the creation of a special economic zone aimed at
developing Aktobe airport as a multimodal hub. At the instruction of the Head
of State, a 700-seat drama theater and a multifunctional stadium with a
capacity of up to 35,000 spectators will be built in the city.
President Tokayev also visited the
operational management center of the Aktobe police department, where 32
inspectors conduct round-the-clock monitoring in real time. In total, there are
five such centres in the region. The Head of State was also informed about the
use of artificial intelligence technologies.
«The artificial intelligence function
offers numerous capabilities, such as facial recognition, detecting abandoned
items, identifying weapons, and much more. Our analysts monitor the situation
in the region around the clock, and AI plays a significant role in maintaining
order among the population,» noted Abai Zhussupov, head of the Aktobe region police
department.
The Head of State also visited the regional
perinatal center, where more than 8,000 children are born each year and over
13,000 patients receive treatment.
«The main feature of our center is that we
perform surgeries on newborns and premature infants. We have conducted over 50
surgical interventions, including ophthalmological, cardiological, and neonatal
surgeries,» said Gulshat Temirbayeva, director of the Aktobe Regional Perinatal
Center.
The Head of State also visited the children’s
football academy. The sports facility is equipped with modern equipment, enabling
year-round training. Around 800 children train at the center, following the
best international standards. During his conversation with the students and
coaches, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of actively involving
children in sports.
