Kazakh President’s TV and Radio Complex partners with China’s CGTN

The TV and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan is expanding its cooperation by partnering with China Global Television Network (CGTN), which broadcasts in over 160 countries worldwide. For the first time, the national satellite TV channel Silk Way, in collaboration with the international media organization, has launched a series of joint programs on domestic television, including one conducted in teleconference format. TV hosts and experts discussed topical issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, as well as the upcoming agenda of the SCO Summit.

«Today, Kazakhstan and China are key partners, with China being our largest trading partner. Recognizing the significance of this relationship, we facilitated a connection between the two countries via our teleconference. Kazakh experts were hosted in our Astana studio, while Chinese specialists participated from the studio in Beijing. This synthesis of diverse opinions is what we aimed to achieve,» said Ainur Imangali, Editor-in-Chief of Silk Way TV Channel.

Moreover, viewers could watch a talk show dedicated to cooperation within the SCO framework. The discussion featured Kazakh and international experts addressing issues related to promoting a global multilateral dialogue, as well as economic and tourism cooperation among the member states. The project was co-hosted by Kazakh anchor Ainur Imangali and renowned Chinese journalist Tian Wei.

«Exchanges among the media organizations is extremely rewarding. Our counterparts were already waiting for me at the door and introduced me about the grand history of the Silk Way TV. Coming into the studio, where we are standing right here, totally modern and automated, cameras are operating very smoothly. Also, the people working here are very professional. It reminds me of my team back at home,» CGTN host Tian Wei said.

The two TV channels will broadcast special news segments by Silk Way and CGTN reporters, focusing on Kazakhstan-China cooperation in the trade, economic, diplomatic, and educational fields. They will also extensively cover the agenda for the upcoming SCO Summit. Additionally, Silk Way TV channel will air the documentary «Symphony of the Silk Road: The First Decade» and the studio talk show «Shanghai Spirit». The Documentary Film Center of the TV and Radio Complex is producing a film specifically for CGTN viewers, scheduled to premiere on July 5 and 6. This marks just the beginning of a significant media partnership, with many more joint projects and plans ahead.
